This is a standalone unit that is wired into your 15,000 or 13,500 btu AC. It ramps the start current to effectively reduce it to levels that allow operation with one 2000 watt generator or lessen the load on 2 in parallel see MicroAir website . Used for about 3 years. It is microprocessor controlled, not just a hard start capacitor, which does nothing to reduce start current. It comes with a new installation kit. It will need to be reset which is a simple operation, as is installation. Both procedures have directions on their website. I bought this new and if I can install it, you can. IM me if interested. Price includes shipping.

I have one on each air conditioner and can run both easily on 30 amps without worry.

I have one on our rig and it runs our 15,000 Coleman AC on a Ryobi 2200 Generator. I love it.
